Wedding venues face unique fire safety challenges that standard workplace fire marshal training often fails to address. Our Wedding Venue Fire Safety & Event Readiness Training is specifically designed for venues that host weddings, receptions, and live events, where layouts change, guest numbers fluctuate, and ignition risks increase.
This course provides your team with a recognised Fire Marshal Certificate, while delivering training that is directly relevant to real wedding and event scenarios.
Unlike typical workplaces, wedding venues often involve:
• Temporary décor, drapes, and floral displays
• Candles, tea lights, and decorative ignition sources
• Kitchens working at peak demand alongside live events
• Temporary electrical equipment such as DJs, bands, and lighting rigs
• High occupant loads with unfamiliar guests
• Alcohol consumption affecting evacuation behaviour
• Changing room layouts for ceremonies, dining, and evening receptions
This training bridges the gap between generic fire marshal courses and fully bespoke training, giving venues a practical, cost-effective solution that reflects how weddings actually operate.
The course includes all core Fire Marshal content, plus wedding-venue-specific risk awareness:
Fire safety responsibilities and legal duties
Understanding the responsibilities of venue staff under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, with emphasis on events and changing risk profiles.
Wedding and event-specific fire hazards
Identifying common hazards linked to decorations, candles, catering, temporary electrics, outdoor features, and seasonal events.
Dynamic risk assessment during live events
Teaching staff how to assess fire risk as events progress, including room changes, guest movement, and increased ignition sources.
Fire detection, alarms, and emergency procedures
How to respond to activations during live events, reduce panic, and manage guests calmly and safely.
Evacuation planning for weddings and events
Managing evacuations with large guest numbers, vulnerable persons, unfamiliar layouts, and outdoor congregation points.
Staff roles during an emergency
Clear understanding of who does what during a fire situation, including coordination with event staff and emergency services.
Practical fire extinguisher awareness
Safe decision-making around first-aid firefighting, when it is appropriate, and when evacuation must take priority.
All successful learners receive a Fire Marshal Certificate, confirming they have completed formal fire safety training aligned with UK fire safety legislation, with additional event-specific competency.
This certificate supports your venue’s compliance and demonstrates due diligence to enforcing authorities, insurers, and event organisers.
• Wedding venues and barns • Manor houses and stately homes • Hotels hosting weddings and functions • Event venues and marquees • Country estates and exclusive-use venues
Training can be delivered on-site at your venue, allowing staff to learn within the actual environment they work in. This makes the training more engaging, relevant, and effective than classroom-only alternatives.
