Designed and delivered by experienced operational firefighters who are Level 3 teacher and assessor qualified, this 1-day HSE compliant course provides essential life-saving skills for workplace emergencies. Our expert-led training ensures participants gain the confidence and ability to handle a range of medical incidents, meeting the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 requirements.
This course is ideal for low-risk workplaces, including offices, retail environments, and small businesses, ensuring employees are fully prepared to provide first aid in the event of an emergency. With a mix of hands-on practical training and engaging real-life scenarios, our sessions equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to act swiftly and effectively.
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider in the workplace
- Conduct a primary assessment using the DR ABC method
- Perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Recognise and assist a casualty who is unresponsive but breathing
- Manage choking incidents
- Identify and treat wounds, bleeding, and shock
- Recognise and provide first aid for seizures, minor burns, and scalds
- Understand and apply basic first aid for common workplace injuries
Successful candidates will receive a First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 3 years, issued in an electronic format. This certificate ensures compliance with workplace first aid regulations. It is recommended to undergo refresher training annually.
This course is delivered in one day, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. Evening and weekend sessions are available to suit business needs.
